A Flipping Fantastic Week

Hey Team.

We had a flipping fantastic week. For real, it was great. We had a ton of miracles that happened this week. We are now working with 6 people with a baptismal date. Which is great for us. Cause a few weeks ago we had nothing.

This week we decided to talk with everyone. And it has been going great! I love being able to invite everyone. God has been helping us a lot with finding new people to teach. Some of our best investigators were people we just found in the street, or contacting.

So yeah, life is going good! I sure love you guys a lot!

Love,

Elder Himes

P.S. It is getting flipping hot here! I can hardly stand it sometimes. It is crazy.

P.P.S. Some of you guys might remember Juan. One of my best investigators from Ushuaia. That never got baptized with me. I wanted him to get baptized SO bad. I was always thinking about him. and praying for him. Well, this week HE GOT BAPTIZED!!! Whoa! Like 7 months late.

Another missionary called me and told me that he bore his testimony. He said, "I'm very grateful for Elder Himes and elder Popa, the first missionaries that knocked my door!" It literally was the best feeling in the world hearing that! Vamos todavia!!

Happy Birthday!

Hey Team!! How is it going!?!

Mira vos! Tenemos un nuevo Presidente que tal eh!?

We have been hearing so much about his anti-stuff and everyone making signs that say that. Kind of crazy huh? Literally everyone is asking us about what we think about Trump. This really old guys on a tractor going 5 miles an hours honked his horn at us and flipped us off. We just smiled and gave him a thumbs up. I think he did it cause we were both white and he had hear about Trump. But yeah people are going crazy

My birthday was pretty cool. Not a lot of people knew about it, but it was still really cool cause a lot of miracles happened. We showed up to church and a lady we had never met showed up. She brought her 5 year old granddaughter that had been wanting to come to church for a while! So that was awesome! Then later in the night a little 9 year old kid told us that he wants to be baptized! So that was so awesome too!

Also some people gave me cake. So that was really cool too!

Well Have a great week everyone!

Love,

Elder Himes

Happy Halloween (Sort of)

Hey there Team! How are you all doing? I hope really well!

Well, I'm sorry, there isn't all that much to report on this week! We just finished up transfers this week, so everyone in the zone got here. And I just spent the rest of the week introducing my comp to the new area. But yeah, things are doing really well!

Here in Argentina they don't really celebrate Halloween that much. They kind of see it as a bad things. So there isn't all that much that we do here for it. But I hope that you guys all enjoy it! And I hope that you all eat a ton of candy!

Halloween is Coming

I don't have a ton of time today. Like I actually have very very little time. But I will write what I can.

Today we have transfers so everyone is coming and going. I have 1 hour until someone else goes.

Haha, halloween here. Everyone thinks that it is a Satan worshiper holiday, so no one really does anything. I might change name tags with my comp.

My new comp is Elder Petersen!! I'm so stoked. He is literally one of my best friends from the mission. He has one more transfer than me. He is from Washington. We were in my first zone together, and in my second. And we always talked about how we were going to be comps! I'm really happy with my transfer.

Have a great week!

The Prank Lands at Midnight

Sorry, I don't have a lot of time and the internet is really bad so I cant put picks on, but I will send one funny story.

Thursday night. We went to bed at 10:30. Then at about midnight my comp gets up suddenly and says, "Hey Bro!" We hear in the other room someone is going through our stuff. Oh my heavens I thought, this is real life. There is actually someone in our pension robbing us.

So my comp went over to check it out. He walked out first, and boom he fell down. I look around the corner. And I see a full grown man looking at me in a ski mask. I pull my fist to punch him in the face, and as I go in for it. he takes of the mask. And! It was a missionary from another zone.

They had to come to our zone to do stuff for their Visas, so my companion planned a prank with them. And it was really awesome. The next week I will send photos.

Have a great week!

Baptisms and Adventures!

Hey team! How are you all doing? I'm doing really really good!

I'm especially excited cause we had two baptisms this week! They are named Milagros, and Agnese. They are both nine year old girls, and rest of their family are members.

Their families were less actives, but we have been working with them and helping them come back to church. And they are starting to come back! It was really interesting teaching them. We had to teach really really simply. We had to draw out the 10 commandment, and the word of wisdom. We did arts and crafts with them and painted rocks to help them to remember to pray. It was fun! We had to be a little creative.

Also, at the baptism, we did a musical number. It was awesome. The mom of Agnese sings in a choir, and she invited some of her professional friends to come sing and they invited us too! We sang an evangelical song. It turned out super cool. Especially considering I don't know how to sing. It was just a really special experience!

The adventure! Tonight, we are going on an adventure. A long time ago in the mission there was an area farther north from here called Sierra Grande. This last week the president from there asked if we would go over there and teach a few references. So tonight we are going to travel, sleep in the branch presidents house, and then come back at 6 in the morning Wednesday. It's going to be awesome!

I love you team! Have a great week!

Elder Himes

Waiting & Walking & Wonderful Stuff

Hey Team! How is it going? We had a really good week!

This week my comp and I had to go to the bus stop at 11 at night and wait until 1 in the morning cause an Elder in our zone went to train. He was coming from the mission home, and his colectivo <bus> broke down. So we had to wait for a long time.

Also, this last P-day we went to take a walk as a zone on the dock. It was super cool! We saw a bunch of whales and seals. Ive now decided that my new calling in life is to sail the ocean when I get home from the mission. Not really, but it would be kind of cool.

This week we have seen a lot of miracles. A lot of people are coming to us to be taught, Like three times this week people have stopped us in the street to talk to us. That normally never ever happens. The lord really is hastening his work!

I love you all Have a great week!

Sorry this email is a little boring. Ill write more next week!

Olympic Victories

Hey Todo! How are you all doing!

We had a crazy week. Me and my comp planned an activity with the zone called the Mormon Olympics! It was so cool! We invited all of the youth from Madryn and did our own olympics. The first night (Friday, we started at 7) we got everyone in the chapel and divided all of the youth into 1 of 6 countries (Portugal, Italy, South Africa, Canada, Jamaica, and Japan) Then they had to choose olympians for each event. We played volley ball, football, tennis and ping pong. It was super fun!

My comp and I made the tournaments and everything. Then, the first night while we were playing, the lights cut in half of the city. So we all had to finish early. But we kept going Saturday morning and did all of the finals, and a barbecue. But yeah, It was really fun. There were about 70 youth, actives, less actives and investigators. It was a blast.

When It finished I was so exhausted, but it was so worth it!

I hope that you are all doing really good! Have a great week!

Love,

Elder Himes.
